Player: Jose María López

Nationality: Spain

Club (mentioned): Mérida

Notes:

• There are multiple footballers named José María López or José López from Spanish-speaking countries. The name alone can match several players across different eras and levels (youth, lower leagues, regional teams).
• Based on the information provided (Spanish player who played for Mérida), the most likely references are players associated with clubs from Mérida, Extremadura (e.g., CP Mérida, Mérida UD) rather than Mérida in other countries. Historical rosters and lower-division squads for those clubs include various players named José/Pepe López or José María López, but without a birth date, position, or timeframe it's not possible to identify a single definitive profile.

Suggested additional details that would allow a precise profile:

• Full name including middle names or common diminutives (e.g., José María "Pepe" López)
• Date of birth or approximate career years
• Playing position (goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward)
• Which Mérida club and season (CP Mérida, Mérida UD, Atlético Mérida, etc.)

If you provide any of those details, I will return a focused player profile including career clubs, positions, appearances and goals where available, and notable achievements.
